1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter, room temperature
6 tablespoons granulated sugar
6 tablespoons light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 (6 ounce) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
About 4 oz. chocolate (your choice of semi-sweet, dark, or milk chocolate)
You can use chips or a bar chocolate broken into pieces
In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a larger bowl, beat together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
Add the vanilla and egg. Stir well to combine. Add the flour mixture. Blend
in well. Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts.
Preheat oven to 375-degrees F.
Spread the cookie dough evenly onto the ungreased 12-inch diameter baking
pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Remove and allow to cool for 10-15 minutes.
Carefully transfer cookie to a wire rack and allow to cool completely.
Put chocolate chips or broken chocolate bar into a microwave-safe bowl
Microwave on high for 1 minute. Remove and stir. If the chocolate is not
completely smooth, return to microwave for intervals of 30 seconds until no
