Italian Cocktails
Hot Apple Pie
(Makes 1 serving)
2 ounces Tuaca
Hot apple cider
Sweetened whipped cream
Cinnamon sticks
Pour the Tuaca in an Irish coffee glass.
Fill with hot apple cider.
Top with whipped cream.
Garnish with a cinnamon stick.
Tuaca Lemon Drop
(Makes 1 serving)
1-1/2 ounces Tuaca
1/2 ounce Triple Sec
1 ounce Sweet and Sour Mix
Lemon wedge, squeezed.
Mix all ingredients in a shaker filled with ice.
Shake and strain into a sugar rimmed glass).
Chocolate Cake Martini
(Makesd 1 serving)
3 ounces vanilla vodka
1/2 ounce Frangelico
3 ounces crème de cacao
Sweetened cocoa powder
Wet the rim of the martini glass with water.
Dip into the sweetened cocoa powder.
Place the liquid ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice.
Shake well.
Strain into the prepared martini glass to serve.
Bellinis with Fresh Peaches
You may also use thawed frozen peaches if fresh peaches are not in season.
2 ripe white peaches, peeled pitted, and coarsely chopped
1 (750 ml) bottle Prosecco or sparkling wine, chilled
Optional: 1/4 cup fresh or thawed frozen raspberries
Puree peaches in a blender. You should have 1 cup.
Transfer to a bowl and chill.
If you are adding the raspberries, puree them in the blender now.
Strain the raspberry puree to remove the seeds. Transfer to a bowl and chill.
For each serving:
Spoon a heaping tablespoon of peach puree into a Champagne glass.
Top with 1 tablespoon raspberry puree.
Fill the glass with the sparkling wine. Serve.
To peel fresh peaches: Put them in a saucepan of boiling water for 30 seconds.
Remove them to a bowl of ice water. The peels should come off easily.
Easy Bellinis
3/4 cup peach schnapps, chilled
1 (750 ml) bottle Prosecco or sparkling wine, chilled
For each serving:
Pour 2 tablespoons schnapps in a champagne glass.
Fill with sparkling wine.
Angelo Azzurro (Blue Angel)
This is a Limoncello spin on the Blue Angel drink.
1 ounce Cointreau
1 ounce Limoncello
1 ounce Gin (preferably Tanqueray Tropical Blue)
1/3 part sweet (red) Italian Vermouth
Fruit garnish
Pour the Couintreau, Limoncello, Gin, and Vermouth into a cocktail shaker.
Add a few ice cubes. Shake well.
Pour into a cocktail glass and garnish with a fruit garnish (your choice).
Campari Orange
(Makes 1 serving)
1 ounce Campari
2 ounces orange juice
Pour both ingredients over ice.
Serve.
Rossini
(Serves 1)
1/4 cup strawberry puree, chilled
2/3 cup Prosecco or sparkling wine, chilled
Place puree in a chilled glass.
Fill the glass with Prosecco.
Stir, and serve.
Tiziano
(Serves 1)
1/4 cup red grape juice, chilled
2/3 cup Prosecco, chilled
Place grape juice in a chilled glass.
Fill the glass with Prosecco.
Stir, and serve.
Aperol Spritzer
(Serves 1)
2 ounces Aperol
3 ounces Prosecco
Splash of club soda or seltzer
Ice
Half a slice of orange.
Pour the Aperol, Prosecco, and soda over ice.
Garnish with orange slice.
Wedding Cake Martini
(Serves 1)
3 ounces Amaretto
1/2 ounce vodka
1 ounce fresh squeezed orange juice
Crushed ice
Optional: Dollop of sweetened whipped cream
Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
Shake well, strain into a martini glass.
Optional:
Float a little cream on top to make it really taste like a cake.
Bicicletta
(Serves 1)
The Bicicletta is said to get its name from the old Italian
men who favor it, and who, after indulging in a few, wobble
home on their bicycles.
Ice cubes
2 ounces Campari
1-1/2 ounces white wine
1/2 ounce club soda
Lemon slices (optional)
Fill wine glasses with ice.
Add Campari, wine, and soda.
Stir to mix.
Garnish with lemon slices, if desired.
Golden Cadillac
(Serves 1)
1 ounce Galliano
2 ounces white creme de cacao
1 ounce light cream
1/2 cup crushed ice
Combine all ingredients in an electric blender.
Blend at low speed for ten seconds.
Strain into a champagne flute and serve.
Frangelico Tuscan Mule
(Serves 1)
1-1/2 ounces Frangelico
4 ounces ginger ale
Orange slice
Pour the ingredients over ice in a tall glass.
Garnish with an orange slice.
Americano
(Serves 1)
Ice
1 ounce Campari
1 ounce sweet vermouth
Seltzer or club soda
Slice of lemon
Pour Campari and vermouth over ice in a short glass.
Fill the glass with seltzer and stir.
Garnish with slice of lemon.
Negroni
(Serves 1)
A Negroni is an Americano with gin added.
It is named after Count Negroni who invented it in a
bar in Florence after World War II.
Ice
1 ounce Campari
1 ounce sweet vermouth
1 ounce gin
Slice of lemon or orange
Put ice and liquid ingredients in a cocktail Shaker.
Shake and strain into a chilled glass.
Garnish with lemon or orange slice.
Godmother
(Serves 1)
1-1/2 ounces Amaretto
1-1/2 ounces vodka
Pour over ice in a glass, stir, and serve.
Godfather
(Serves 1)
1-1/2 ounces Amaretto
1-1/2 ounces scotch
Pour over ice in a glass, stir, and serve
Mad Monk
(Serves 1)
1 ounce gin
1 ounce Frangelico
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Crushed ice
Place all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
Shake and strain into a glass.
Garnish with slice of lemon, if deisred.
Walnut Whirl
(Serves 1)
1 ounce cognac
1 ounce Nocino (walnut liqueur)
1 ounce heavy cream
Crushed ice
Optional: Grated dark chocolate
Place the liquid ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice.
Shake and strain into a glass.
Garnish with chocolate, if desired
